An Embroidery Party!

Who doesn't love a party? Especially one celebrating a much-loved craft, and a new book. As a reader of the New York Etsy team blog, you are invited this Saturday, November 17th to celebrate the publication of Stitched Gifts (25 Sweet and Simple Embroidery Projects for Every Occasion) by Jessica Marquez. The party (6pm - 7:30 pm) will be held at Purl Soho (459 Broome Street between Greene and Mercer), a cool store specializing in knitting, crocheting and sewing, where Jessica frequently teaches classes. Her etsy shop is called Minature Rhino.

Stitched Gifts is filled with inspiring projects and ideas that put the reader on a path to creating their own memorable presents and personalized treasures. As Jessica says, the book was "born out of my love for creating...heirlooms that will hopefully be passed down through the generations. I wanted to share [these ideas] with everyone!" The book features photo illustrations of stitches, a materials guide, guidance on framing and backing finished pieces, as well as professional tips and tricks.

Guests who purchase the book, or any other item in the store, on the night of the party will receive a do-it-yourself Snowflake Ornament kit (below) that Jessica created for the occasion!
