Contest

It's MONDAY! Which means its time for our brand new Monday Giveaway. Each and Every Monday Stop by to enter to win something fabulous from members of The {NewNew} York Etsy team. This Monday we are proudly giving away a Wool felted Black Cat
- from our very own littleloveblue

This little dapper cat is hand sewn from recycled and felted wool. The ears and belly are made from a lovely blue patterned cotton. He is stuffed with pure wool. The tail has a wire to help give it a little curl (or however you may like it). He's so stylish, even his cute blue whiskers match! This little cat measures measures about 5 inches tall and 3 inches wide. And has been featured recently on the etsy front page!

Cary who is the artist behind littleloveblue is self taught artist, and full time mother, living in Brooklyn, NY. She grew up in a family full of artists and crafters but some how never learned how to sew. In college and graduate school she majored in Women's Studies and Film and was very interested in the history of women's artistic and creative endeavors, but it wasn’t until she was an adult and had her own children that she sought out a means to express her own creativity. She has become very interested in the history of traditional crafting, and choose to sew almost entirely by hand using only natural materials. Through her work, she strives to find beauty in simplicity, in the things we often over look in our busy lives.

Well I would love to have this cat as my cat just went missing last week. He was also a black cat, and I miss him.

I will be posting about your contest on my blog tonight.

I love animals and handmade items! Almost every piece of my decorating is handmade by an artisan and I am proud of my goodies. Most of my pieces are not expensive, but they mean a lot to me! Our family currently has one 16 year oid dog named Beethoven. We had a little dog Kayleigh, who passed four years ago at almost 19 years old. Our cat, Nikki, died at 16. I want another animal, but my husband says no for now. This small handmade cat would make me very happy. He/She is adorable! Please enter me in your delightful drawing. Many thanks, Cindi

Her felt animals are the cutest I've ever seen! Absolutely adorable! I've blogged about it already today, but would be happy to blog about it again if it helps my odds :)www.la-sha.blogspot.com

When I found this amazing black kitty on Etsy, I almost fainted! I cannot believe how perfectly she captured the incredible shape & style of a black cat! I have 3 of them- & they wow me everyday- just like this little guy! I'm totally in love!

Sidenote- I immediately put the wee black kitty in a Treasury, which made the front page--- another sign, to me, that black cats are GOOD luck!

This is easy--I lost my cat almost 2 years ago this coming November, and I haven't been able to get another. I miss Scrapscat so much. I WANT one, but my dear huband says that when he retires next year, we'll be going to see the grandchildren more, and we (he) didn't want to take a cat with us everywhere as we HAD done for about 30-odd years of the 42 we've been married!! I could never leave any of ours at home when we left--I couldn't board them, or leave them in the care of a neighbor, because they were like my babies.

Check my blog, http://catgirlknitson.blogspot.com and you'll see I've posted JUST for MIDNIGHT! (Yeah, I named him already!!) Ooops-I see someone already has the same idea!

Sing it with me (I know, the contest's over): "She was a long cool woman with a black cat..."

You know, the perfect little black cat every woman needs, needing just a few accessories to jazz it up.
